Push notifications in the jeCheck app
jeCheck sends push notifications to your phone when something that concerns you personally happens in tasks and other sections. Notifications are delivered to every device where you're signed in to the app.
How to turn on notifications
- Sign in to the app. Notifications are linked to a device once you sign in to your account.
- Allow notifications. When your phone asks, allow the jeCheck app to send notifications. If you declined, turn them on for jeCheck in your phone's settings.
- Stay signed in. After you sign out of the app, notifications stop arriving on that device.
Task notifications
You get a push if you're the creator, an assignee or a watcher of a task. You aren't notified about your own actions.
| Event | Who receives it |
|---|---|
| You have been assigned a task | New assignees (plus an email) |
| You have been removed from a task | Removed assignees |
| A comment or file in a task | The creator, assignees and watchers; several comments within 10 minutes arrive as one notification |
| Task status changed | The creator and watchers; assignees — if the status was changed by someone other than an assignee |
| Task due date changed | Assignees and watchers |
| Task due today | Assignees — in the morning of the due date |
| Task overdue | Assignees and the creator — in the morning of the day after the due date |
| Escalation: task overdue | The location manager (or administrators) — after the number of overdue days set in the company settings |
The same notifications also arrive for requests with approval: to the approver — when a request is waiting for their decision, to the author — about decisions and completion. Department members (or the department heads) get a notification about a new task in the department queue.
How to choose which push notifications arrive
In the app, open Profile → Notifications. It has the same switches as the profile in the web dashboard: the In the app group is push to your phone, the By email group is emails. For example, you can turn off push about comments and keep notifications about assignments. The setting is saved immediately and applies on the website too.
Notification history in the bell is always kept, even if push is turned off. Task emails are available only to employees with web dashboard access. More in Task notifications.
AI Control briefing
Every morning administrators and location managers get the push Today's briefing is ready — with a summary of how many cards are urgent and how many need attention. During the day, pushes arrive about new critical cards, for example a failed audit with no task. The briefing itself opens in the web dashboard: the notification under the bell leads to the home page. More in Home: the AI Control morning briefing.
Notifications about audit violation tasks
If the company has an automation scenario turned on, tasks are created for violations found in an audit, and they come with additional notifications:
- New task from audit — to the assignee, with the due date and a note if an after-fix photo is required;
- Task reminder and Task overdue — to the assignee, if set up in the scenario;
- Escalation: task overdue — to whoever the scenario escalates overdue tasks to;
- Review the work — to the reviewer, when the assignee marks the task as done;
- Task accepted or Task returned for rework — to the assignee after the review;
- Violation recorded again — if the same violation is recorded in a new audit while the task is still open;
- Violation summary for a location — if a summary of minor violations is enabled in the scenario.
Other notifications
Besides tasks, jeCheck sends push notifications about events in other sections:
- Tests — a newly assigned test, a reminder and an overdue test. Learn more in the Testing section.
- Instructions — a new or updated instruction and a reminder to acknowledge it. See the Instructions section.
- HACCP — time to fill in a log, a deviation in a log, corrective actions returned for rework; for managers — deviations awaiting review and missed entries. See the HACCP section.
- Mystery shopper — to whoever created the visit, when the shopper submits the questionnaire. See the Mystery shopper section.
- Scheduled audits — to the auditor: “Planned audit tomorrow” a day before and “Planned audit in an hour” an hour before the audit; to the plan author and location managers — “Planned audit overdue” if the scheduled date has passed with no audit. These arrive only if the notifications are enabled in the plan — see How to schedule audits. Tapping opens the day's plan on the Overview tab.
- Shift schedule — “Schedule updated”, “Your shift starts soon”, “Clock-out missing”, answers to your requests and offers from colleagues; for managers — new employee requests. Tapping opens the right section of the Schedule tab — see Schedule in the mobile app.
Where tapping a notification leads
Notifications about tasks, requests, tests, instructions, HACCP and the schedule open the right screen in the app. A notification that only has a link to the website opens in the browser. If you don't have web dashboard access, links to the dashboard don't open — the app tells you the section is available only in the web app.
What to do if notifications don't arrive
- Check the permission. Notifications for jeCheck must be enabled in your phone's settings.
- Check that you're a participant. Task push notifications go only to the creator, assignees and watchers.
- Sign in again. Sign out of the app and sign back in — the device will be linked to your account again.
- Check the account. If another employee used this phone before, after you sign in, notifications will go only to you.
Frequently asked questions
Do notifications arrive when the app is closed?
Yes, push notifications are shown by the phone itself even if the app isn't open — as long as notifications for jeCheck are allowed.
Can I see notifications I missed?
Every notification is saved on the server in your account's notification history, marked as read or unread. The full text is kept in the history even if the push itself is truncated because of length limits.
What language are notifications in?
Notifications about tasks, tests and instructions arrive in your interface language; HACCP notifications arrive in the company language. The language chosen in the app (Profile → Interface language) is saved as your interface language, and push notifications start arriving in it. This works for the languages available in the web dashboard: Russian, English, Kazakh, Uzbek, Georgian, Armenian, Serbian and German. If another language is selected in the app, notifications keep arriving in the previous language. More in Interface language and report language.
