# How to work with tasks in the mobile app

> View your tasks, create new ones, comment, attach photos and change the status right in the jeCheck app.

Tasks in the app are the same as under **Work → Tasks** in the web account: comments, files and statuses are synced. Tasks are usually assigned by a manager or created automatically from audit violations.

## Which tasks you see

The app shows the tasks you take part in. There are three kinds, depending on your role:

- you're an **assignee** — you're responsible for getting it done;
- you're a **watcher** — you follow the progress but aren't responsible for the work;
- you're the **creator** — you set the task yourself.

A task has a due date, assignees, comments, files and an overdue flag.

## Task statuses

| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| New | The task has been created, work hasn't started |
| In progress | The assignee has taken the task |
| In review | The assignee has marked it as done and is waiting for the reviewer's confirmation |
| Done | The work is complete |
| Cancelled | The task is no longer relevant (in the web account this status is called “Rejected”) |

For audit violation tasks with work review enabled in the automation scenario, the **In review** status is set automatically when the assignee marks the task as done.

## How to complete a task

1. **Open the task.** In the app, go to tasks and choose one where you're the assignee.
2. **Start working on it.** Change the status to **In progress**.
3. **Attach a photo or file.** For example, a photo of the fixed violation.
4. **Write a comment.** Comments are visible to all task participants and in the web account.
5. **Mark it as done.** Change the status to completed.

> [!WARNING]
> If a task was created from an audit violation and requires an **“After” photo**, you can't mark it as done without the photo — the server won't accept the status. If review is enabled, the task moves to **In review**, and the location manager or auditor (or the administrator, if there are none) accepts it or sends it back for rework. Learn more in the [Automation](/docs/automation) section.

## How to create a task

1. **Create a task.** In tasks, start a new task.
2. **Fill in the title, description and due date.**
3. **Assign people.** Choose one or more assignees and, if needed, watchers from your company's employees.
4. **Attach files.** Photos or documents that will help get the task done.
5. **Save.** Assignees and watchers get a push notification about the new task.

You can also add an assignee or watcher to an existing task — task participants will get a notification.

## Frequently asked questions

### Why didn't a task I created in the app show up for my colleague?

Check that your colleague is set as an assignee or watcher. In the app, a task is visible to its creator, assignees and watchers.

### Are comments from the app visible in the web account?

Yes. Comments are stored in the same task, so you can see them both in the app and under **Work → Tasks** on the website. To learn more about working with tasks on the website, see the [Tasks](/docs/tasks) section.

### Will I get a reminder about a task's due date?

Reminders, overdue notifications and escalations arrive only for audit tasks created by an automation scenario. There are no due-date reminders for regular tasks created manually. For the full list of notifications, see [Push notifications](/docs/mobile/push-notifications).
