In the jeCheck app, audits are carried out right at the location: you pick the location and checklist, answer the questions, attach photos and submit the result. The checklist itself is created by an administrator in the web account — see the [Checklists](/docs/checklists) section.

## Which locations and checklists you see

The locations and checklists available in the app depend on the administrator's settings:

- **A company administrator** sees all locations and all checklists.
- **An employee assigned to locations** sees only their own locations. If there are no assignments, all company locations are visible.
- **A checklist with restricted access** is visible only to the employees it's been opened to in the **Who can use the checklist** setting. A checklist set to **Available to everyone** is visible to everyone.

> [!NOTE]
> If a checklist has **Available from** / **Available until** times set, it can only be completed within that window. At other times the checklist can't be started.

## Step by step

1. **Open audits.** In the app, go to the list of checklists.
2. **Choose a location.** Select the location you're auditing.
3. **Choose a checklist.** Checklists may be organized into folders.
4. **Answer the questions.** Go through the sections in order — sections and questions appear in the same order as in the checklist builder. A question that's allowed to be skipped can be left unanswered; all others are required.
5. **Attach photos or files.** If a question requires a photo, attach one — this is set by the checklist author. The options — camera, gallery or file — depend on the question settings.
6. **Add a comment.** You can add a note to an answer — it will appear in the report.
7. **Sign, if required.** If **Signature** is enabled in the checklist, you need to sign on the screen before submitting.
8. **Submit the audit.** The result is sent to the server along with the answers, photos and final score.

> [!TIP]
> If **Location** is enabled in the checklist, the app sends the phone's coordinates along with the audit. Allow the app to access your location so the audit is submitted with a location stamp.

## What happens after you submit

A submitted audit is processed on the server in the background; this usually takes only a short time:

- **the result is calculated** according to the checklist's scoring rules (as a percentage or in points);
- **a PDF report is generated** and sent to the auditor, to recipients of matching [mailing lists](/docs/checklists/mailings) (based on their locations and result threshold) and, if enabled in the checklist, to the location's email;
- **violation tasks are created** if the company has an automation scenario turned on — learn more in the [Automation](/docs/automation) section.

The result appears in the audit history in the app and under **Work → Audits** in the web account.

## Scheduled audits

If an administrator has scheduled audits for you in the [Planner](/docs/planner), the app shows the audits assigned to you **for today**: which checklist and at which location. For each one, you can see whether it has already been submitted today.

If reminders are enabled in the plan, a push notification — “Planned audit tomorrow” or “Planned audit in an hour” — arrives a day and/or an hour before the scheduled audit, with the checklist, location and time. An administrator turns them on in the **Notifications** step of the plan wizard — see [How to schedule audits](/docs/planner/create-plan).

> [!NOTE]
> A scheduled audit counts as done if you submit an audit using the same checklist at the same location within the window of the scheduled date — on the day itself or within the plan's tolerance. You don't have to open it from today's list.

## Frequently asked questions

### Is there a limit on the number of audits or photos?

No. Your plan doesn't limit the number of audits per day or attachments per question.

### Why can't I see the checklist I need?

Most likely the checklist has restricted access and you're not in the **Who can use the checklist** list, or the checklist has been deleted. Ask your administrator to check the checklist settings.

### Why can't I see the location I need?

You're assigned to other locations. An administrator changes an employee's location assignments — see the [Team](/docs/team) section.

### Can I view my past audits?

Yes. The app has an audit history for a selected period: your audits and audits at your locations, with the result and a link to the PDF report once it's ready.

### Why didn't the report appear right away?

Audits are processed in a queue on the server: first the answers are saved and the result is calculated, then the PDF is generated. If the report takes a long time, contact your administrator or support at support@jecheck.io.
