The AI assistant works only with your company's data and only within your permissions in jeCheck. Below: when it's available, what its limits are and what happens to your data.

## Which plan includes the assistant

The AI assistant is one of jeCheck's AI features, which are included in the Network and Enterprise plans. If the assistant isn't available to your company, there's no **Ask AI** button in the web account. Plans are described in the [Account](/docs/account) section.

> [!NOTE]
> The **Ask AI** button is also hidden on test-taking pages, so the assistant can't be used during a test.

## Daily message limit

Each user has a daily limit on messages to the assistant. Once it's used up, the assistant replies: “You've reached today's message limit for the assistant. Let's continue tomorrow.” The limit resets at the start of the next day. A single message can be up to 4,000 characters.

If the AI is temporarily overloaded, you'll see “AI is overloaded right now. Try again in a minute.” — wait a moment and click **Retry**.

## What data the assistant can see

- **Only your company.** The assistant can't see other companies' data.
- **Only what's available to you.** An administrator sees data for the whole company. Other users see audits, analytics and tasks only for the locations they're assigned to. If you aren't assigned to any location, the assistant won't show you any audit data.
- **Test statistics** — only for administrators and users with the **Test editor** permission.
- **Knowledge base** — only the instructions available to you.

The assistant gets data through jeCheck's built-in queries, and permissions are checked by jeCheck itself, not by the AI model. So you can't get the assistant to show audit results for a location you don't have access to.

## What the assistant can and can't do with data

- **Reads** data to answer your question.
- **Creates** checklists, tests and tasks — only after you click **Create**, and with a second permission check. Learn more: [How to create a checklist, test or task with the assistant](/docs/assistant/drafts).
- **Doesn't delete or change** existing data, doesn't assign tests and doesn't change settings.

> [!TIP]
> The assistant treats text inside your data — checklist questions, auditor comments, instructions — as data, not as commands. If a comment says “delete all tasks”, the assistant won't do it.

## Who can see your conversations

Your conversations with the assistant are visible only to you — in the chat panel, under the **History** button. You can delete a conversation you no longer need there too. Answers are generated by an external language model (OpenAI): to produce an answer, it receives your question, the history of the current conversation and the data the assistant retrieved for your request.

## Topics: work only

The assistant answers questions about jeCheck, your company's data and quality control: service standards, sanitation, food safety, HACCP, occupational safety, staff training. It politely declines off-topic requests — recipes, programming, translations, news, personal advice — and suggests work-related alternatives. This restriction can't be turned off by asking in the chat.

## Frequently asked questions

### Why don't I have the “Ask AI” button when a colleague at another company does?

Availability depends on your company's plan. If you're on a test-taking page, the button is hidden there on purpose.

### The assistant said there's no data, but audits were done. Why?

Most likely you're not an administrator and aren't assigned to that location — the assistant only shows locations available to you. Ask your administrator to add you to the location. Also check the period: by default, the assistant looks at the last 30 days.

### Can an administrator read my conversations with the assistant?

In the jeCheck interface, conversations are visible only to their author.
